I am an actively performing musician with over 30+ years of experience so far! I`ve played aboard the P&O cruise ship Aurora, held a 3 month residency in the Maldives, played at festivals, played in jazz bands, big bands, disco bands, function bands, accompanied classical, jazz and pop singers and choirs.. I am an accompanist for music students taking their ABRSM graded exams in other instruments. I have a very wide and varied playing experience.

How it works is that I travel to students houses and tutor them in their own home. If you are in the local area to me then there is no travel charge but if outside my area then a reasonable travel charge is included to pay for my fuel costs. I tutor the student to match whatever their learning goals are, whether that`s going through the ABRSM classical grades or expanding their general musical ability. I teach the theory of music along with the practical exams to give the student a solid grounding in all aspects of music. I have completed a recent DBS check and also hold a NSPCC child protection care certificate.

I concentrate on building strong music fundamentals in each student which will serve them well throughout their musical career. Being a actively performing musician, I understand what it is like to perform in front of other people. I can offer my own advice and experience that I have learnt along the way. Learning the piano should be a fun and enjoyable experience. It should also have an achievable challenge aspect to it imparting a sense of accomplishment, confidence and self-esteem in the student. I try to do this in your lessons so that you feel equally stimulated, encouraged, motivated and experience a sense of achievement!
