I am an experienced Biology and Maths tutor with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Genetics, a degree in Applied Biology and A Levels in Biology and Maths. I have several years of experience working in the scientific and medical industry, enabling me to bring real-world knowledge into every lesson!

After taking a career break to raise my young children, I am excited to return to tutoring and share my passion for Biology and Maths.

I understand that doing well in a subject that just doesn’t “click” can feel really challenging. I provide friendly, relaxed lessons backed by methods to help you get your head around the subject and improve your exam technique. My goal is to help you build confidence, grasp and apply difficult concepts, and reach your full potential.

I specialise in A Level Biology, with a strong focus on AQA exam preparation. While biological principles are universal and I can support students across a range of exam boards and levels, my expertise in exam technique and mark scheme precision is tailored specifically to AQA. I am very happy to work with students from other boards to develop a deep, rigorous understanding of core biological concepts; however, for those seeking highly targeted exam technique or specification-specific preparation (such as Edexcel B), this will depend on my availability, as it requires additional time to tailor support to a different specification. Where availability is limited, I would recommend working with a tutor who specialises in that particular exam board.

For my Maths students, sometimes it’s just one tricky topic that needs clearing up, and other times the whole subject can feel a bit much. That’s completely okay! You’re never too young or too old to boost your confidence in Maths. I get to know how you learn best, then break things down into simple, easy-to-follow steps, using examples and practice questions that suit your level. We can go at whatever pace you need, spending as long as you like on any topic until it really clicks.

Experience: With over 70 students supported and 2000+ tutoring hours, I have extensive experience teaching both Biology and Maths.

I have worked with a range of students of all ages including those that benefit from extra support due to behavioural needs or learning differences such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.

In addition to tutoring, I have contributed as a freelance writer for DigiSchool, producing revision guides for Maths and Biology across both AQA and Edexcel exam boards.
