As an educator with over 20 years of experience in the classroom, I understand the importance of addressing the needs of my learners as well as identifying learning gaps so that I can better meet my students` academic needs.
I have extensive experience in designing and executing high-quality, fun, and engaging lessons through a range of strategies while continuously reviewing, monitoring, and improving my instruction to better suit my students` needs. I strive to make things fun and connect to students` lives as literature comes alive when we connect to others` stories and experiences.
I have extensive experience teaching literary/rhetorical analysis, vocabulary development, grammar, and reading fluency courses and have
seen student success in those areas. I holistically teach these skills within the context of what we are learning rather than out of context or in isolation.

Availability: I`m available most evenings and weekends and this summer, (especially in July and August), I will be looking to tutor full time if possible both online and in person.

Experience: I have taught English in Los Angeles, California, for 18 years preparing students for their SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) exams as well as Advanced Placement Language and Literature exams (AP or Advanced Placement English is comparable to English A-Level exams in the U.K for university English credit) for two and three years respectively.
As a result of these experiences, I am very familiar with both the U.S. and British English national curricula and have taught KS3- KS5 including GCSE and Functional Skills in sixth form college here in London.
