Naomi

I am a practising artist currently living and working in London. I have a Master’s Degree in Painting from The Slade School of Art and a BA(Hons) in Painting and Printmaking from The Glasgow School of Art. I have been awarded and nominated for artist residencies, and have exhibited my work in group and solo exhibitions nationally and internationally.

I am passionate about art and education and believe that with hard work and determination all students can achieve a strong result. I have a broad and practical understanding of Art and Design that crosses between 2 and 3 dimensional work, and specialise in painting and drawing. I believe that an informed use of materials can strengthen the quality and articulation of a piece of work, as well as open up new potential for a project. I am able to help with GCSE, A Level, and portfolio preparation for Foundation, BA and MA art school applications. I can also help more generally with painting and drawing knowledge and techniques.

Availability: I am available any time on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Experience: As an education volunteer at Glasgow Museum of Modern Art I helped run classes that related to current exhibitions, the classes were generally aimed at 3 to 11 year olds. When I was working at Scotland Street School Museum I helped to set up and oversee self-directed workshops.

I also volunteered at St Roch’s Secondary School in Glasgow as a classroom assistant supporting students from a variety of age groups during art lessons. I helped to prepare the materials and organise the classroom and assisted during the lessons themselves.

I am a practising artist with a studio at Thames Side Studios in Woolwich and currently work part time as a Box Office Supervisor at The Greenwich Picturehouse in London.

• Setting up and overseeing of self-led workshops, briefing school groups and leasing with artists.
• Providing visitors with up to date information about what is happening at the museum.
