Information about Maggie
As a recently retired, experienced and highly motivated primary school teacher, I work with Primary children to improve and build confidence in their English and/or Maths skills. I have a passion for learning and an ability in helping pupils reach their full potential.
I also work with adult learners who require support with their English or Maths skills development.
Availability: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday a.m
Thursday after 3.30
Friday after 3.30
Happy to travel to students` home or for students to be tutored in my home.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: 17 years experience as a primary school teacher in Northampton schools, working predominantly in Key Stage 2.
Specialised experience in Year 5/6, with up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 2 SATs.
Also qualified to teach English to adults as a second language.

I can’t recommend Maggie highly enough. She really knows children, and how to make them want to learn. The choice to learn in her home instead of ours really helps my son. He looks forward to the work they do together and he will be going to her for as many years as he can. My son looks forward to seeing Maggie and telling her things that he has done well during the week at school. We are so impressed with his progress and confidence, and I love how at the end of each session, Maggie and my son talk about the reasons he should be proud of what he has just achieved. Maggie is exactly what he needs.

Feel incredibly lucky to have found Maggie. She has a lovely manner and engages really well with my sons (who both have very different learning styles). She is very understanding, personable and really knows her stuff. Would recommend without hesitation.

Maggie has a real enthusiasm for teaching which is very engaging for our daughter. She makes learning fun and after only four sessions we can already see our daughters confidence grow in Maths and English. The Zoom lessons have worked really well throughout this second lockdown and keeping the continuity with regular lessons has been great. Thank you Maggie :)

In the short period my daughter has been working with Maggie her confidence has soared. Maggie is extremely positive and encouraging, crucial for a positive mindset towards maths. Maggie provides short home tasks, which my daughter loves completing each week. I highly recommend Maggie to anyone.

Maggie is an excellent teacher. And she is teaching my wife in Adult English and helping my son with his writing skills. Within one month my wife has significantly improved her grammar and writing abilities. Maggie is an amazing teacher and second to none.
In just 2 lessons, my son is on top of his handwriting and enjoys every lesson with Maggie. Maggie is an engaging personality, focused and objective driven, effective, good communicator and has a strong passion for teaching.
