Information about Maggie
As a recently retired, experienced and highly motivated primary school teacher, I work with Primary children to improve and build confidence in their English and/or Maths skills. I have a passion for learning and an ability in helping pupils reach their full potential.
I also work with adult learners who require support with their English or Maths skills development.
Availability: Thursday after 3.30
Friday after 3.30
Saturday a.m. or Sunday a.m.
Lessons in own home.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: 17 years experience as a primary school teacher in Northampton schools, working predominantly in Key Stage 2.
Specialised experience in Year 5/6, with up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 2 SATs.
Also qualified to teach English to adults as a second language.

Maggie has been tutoring my son Oscar for two years from towards the end of Year 4 up until SATs in Yesr 6. With Oscar, a lack of confidence was a real issue but working with Maggie I have seen him grow and develop in confidence. He now believes in his ability. I think having the one to one time and someone who is patient and encouraging to work with has made a massive difference. Maggie has always tailored lessons really thoughtfully in advance, taking on board the curriculum being followed at school and the areas Oscar has needed most support. We’ll miss seeing Maggie each week an would thoroughly recommend her to others.

A true teacher. Maggie is very friendly, caring, patient and truly tries to meet my child at his specific need. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who would like to improve their child’s learning.
