As well as being a dedicated and committed teacher, I am also a Mum to two boys aged 6 and 2. Therefore, I am receptive to parents concerns about their children`s education and understand that, at times, more specific and tailored support is required to support individual children. This may be because your child/ren are struggling, however, this may also be because your child is not being challenged enough and has the ability to super-cede so called `age-related expectations`. Unfortunately, provision is not always made for this at school and, therefore, some children do not achieve their true potential. I believe that every child has the ability to overcome barriers to learning and I aim to recognise children`s individual learning styles to support teaching of all concepts. I am highly experienced and support children to make excellent progress in English, Maths, Science and Phonics.

Availability: Evenings and weekends throughout the year. However, due to Cov-Id, currently I’m available daytimes also.

Experience: I am a fully qualified teacher with a postgraduate teaching qualification (PGCE)and have worked in education since 2006. I have nearly 13 years experience and I have worked in primary schools in Birmingham and Sandwell. I have extensive experience of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, the National Curriculum and personalised planning for children with additional needs/requirements. This includes the age-related outcomes and expectations across the various phases of primary education and all the key subjects this encompasses. I have vast experience of the phonics screening tests in Year 1 and SATS in Years 2 and 6 and am very familiar to English and Maths Schemes of work such as Talk4Write, White Rose Maths, Maths No Problem!, Effective Maths as well as other current frameworks based around the Singaporean/Shangai methods. As well as this, I am a reading recovery teacher and, across the years, have supported many reluctant readers to develop and flourish. I use a range of strategies to promote this, including a variety of phonics schemes including RML, Letters and Sounds and Jolly Phonics.
