Hello, I’m Lucia and I would like to help you to achieve to your full potential in Economics at A Level or GCSE level.

I achieved an A in Economics A Level and a 2.1 grade in BSc Economics at the University of Birmingham. Since graduating, I have worked at the UK’s Department for International Trade as an Economist, working on analysis for trade agreements and international trade policy. I also worked as a Senior Policy Advisor focusing on cryptocurrency at HM Treasury, and have got an MSc in International Politics.

Availability: My availability is flexible across daytimes, evenings and weekends.

Experience: My experience would support your understanding of the syllabus because I have real life experience working on exciting economic issues such as international trade, foreign investment, and digital assets such as cryptocurrency. We will talk through lots of real life examples of the topics we are working through on the syllabus, to bring the theory to life depending on your interests.

My lessons typically focus on understanding the economic concepts and graphs using real life examples, as well as working on your exam technique and answering past paper questions.

I explain economic concepts through current, real-world examples, for instance:
• How does the rise in demand for matcha affect the demand for coffee?
• How does excess demand for Labubu collectibles impact prices in the short run?
• Why are footballers’ salaries so high, and what determines their market value?
• How do apps like TikTok fit into global trade tensions between China and the West?
