Information about Millie
Hi, I`m Millie! I`m a Cambridge university graduate, having graduated in 2017 with a degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences. Currently, I am studying an MSc in European and Global Governance at the University of Bristol. I am an incoming PGCE student and trainee teacher, and beneficiary of the competitive Future Teach scholarship.
I have a real passion and love of learning, which I like to communicate through to my students. My teaching-style is predominantly knowledge-led: my aim is to build a solid foundation of the core knowledge required for the subject, before building upon and analysing this through the development of key critical thinking skills. I am also a highly skilled essay writer, and have experience with helping students structure coursework essays and dissertations, along with exam essay writing practice.
I`d love to get to know your preferred approach to learning and individual needs so I can make my teaching bespoke to the student, so please do drop me a message so that we can discuss further!
Availability: My availability is flexible as I`m a student, so just let me know when suits you.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have extensive experience in tutoring a range of subjects - most notably, English, Humanities and Oxbridge Admissions. Recently, I`ve undergone a tutor training course as part of a programme to help disadvantaged young people to improve their grades in GCSE English. I have also spent time abroad teaching English as a Foreign Language to students in China and Spain, as well as providing university admission advice and Oxbridge interview practice to international students. I am a trained personal statement coach for both UCAS applications and the American Common Application.
