Information about Anahita
800+ hours tutoring experience, 4th year Aerospace Engineering student at Imperial College London with a President`s Scholarship. I teach students online as well as in the Fulham area.
Having taught a very wide range of students (from a class of Ethiopian orphans to a boy from Eton College), Ive developed an ability to engage any student to enable them to learn the content thoroughly. An engaged, interested student retains the information taught far more effectively than a reluctant pupil, so when tutoring I make sure to build a rapport with the children I teach.
I first got into teaching from spending my summers working as a sailing instructor. When I saw a child in the cohort struggling, I began to spend an hour or so during the week focusing specifically on that child, and first saw for myself the benefit individual one-on-one teaching can give. Realising how much I enjoyed the satisfaction of significantly improving the ability of a few children, I used my teaching experience to start tutoring one-one-one.
Availability: As a current student at Imperial College London, I`m quite flexible about the days I can work. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings are ideal but I can also do longer tutoring sessions on weekends during important periods like exam time.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: - GCSE physics student, resulting in her achieving an A* after being predicted a D grade (from a 3 to an 8 in the new grading system).
- Alevel maths and physics student, achieved grades required to gain entry to study Mathematics at Queen Mary University, London.
- 10 year old boy for entry in the 11+ examinations, in maths, English, and verbal reasoning, resulting in the boy getting into the school his parents and him wanted.
- Coding and robotics teaching: recruited and subsequently trained by Fire Tech Camp, where I worked over university holidays. This gave me experience breaking down difficult concepts to children of a wide range of ages, who all learnt differently and required me to adapt my teaching style accordingly.
- Qualified sailing instructor: taught various sailing courses to children and adults, gained more experience in working with different learning styles and methods to engage pupils.

She is a lovely and very friendly teacher. She explains everything very clearly and in a way that the student remembers them.
