I AM RETURNING to TUTOR HUNT this academic year to add to my tutoring options.
I retired from school teaching five years ago, but soon realised I still needed the EXCITEMENT Sociology students at A-level AQA and all boards GCSE.
~ IN TOTAL I HAVE BEEN TUTORING FOR 10 YEARS in addition to 35 YEARS AT SCHOOL teaching Sociology A-level and GCSE to large groups. My university degree involved the study of both Sociology and History helping to add to my wide general knowledge.
~ I PRIDE MYSELF on making lessons relevant, enjoyable and energetic - as well as having a naturally witty style of communication. I thoroughly enjoy helping students to improve the structure and relevance of their essays and shorter answers. I am always happy to set and mark questions and make a point of returning them with detailed, helpful feedback.
~ I HAVE MANY MEMORY AIDS that I have developed over the years. For example, my ‘Crime topic Checklist ’ can be sung to the tune “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” making it even easier remember when faced with questions in the tension of an exam hall.

* * I was also Head of UCAS Applications so I am genuinley excellent at helping students write their personal statements. I can also advise on EPQ structure/other essays.
