I have a degree in Chemistry (Newcastle University) and PhD in Chemical Engineering (Cambridge University). I now work as a consultant specialising in renewable energy and chemicals so still use the knowledge from my degrees on a regular basis and can provide some real life context as to the applicability of science and mathematics in the real world. I teach as a sideline to my main job because I enjoy it and it gives me great satisfaction when I see my students progress and develop an enthusiasm for the subject.

Availability: I work freelance so can be flexible with regard to availability

I have also privately tutored teenagers in GCSE maths and chemistry and maths and science for SATS.


Tutoring Approach:
I tailor each session to the individual student needs and what their desired outcome is. This could include going through past papers for GCSE`s or SATS if desired or in cases (e.g. maths) where the focus is on general improvement it could include working through problems from textbooks or from a catalogue of questions that I have accumulated whist teaching.
