Information about Jennifer
I have a varied background of both academic and more hands-on vocational work that has heavily influenced my approach to teaching and learning. Where applicable, I find it is useful to draw on other skills a student may have.
Availability: I am available during school time. This is usually a good choice for university students. I can be available on some weekends, but send me a message to check.
Sadly, I am not available weekday afternoons or evenings.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am an experienced ESOL/EFL teacher teaching both young learners (age 9 through 18) and adults.
Highlights include:
Lessons for Beginner through Advanced level.
Arrangements for one-to-one study or small groups/families.
Experienced IELTS tutor. My last student passed the IELTS exam with a 7.5.
I have previously taught both General ESOL classes and bespoke classes for young learners at New College Nottingham. I have passed the Life in the UK test myself and can assist in preparation for this or other Citizenship exams. I have also taught basic skills classes to ESOL classes in ICT and Maths. I have experience teaching history for Year 8 through Year 10.
I have worked alongside education and specialist departments (ie, Traveller education, work with EAL pupils, further enrichment and development of independent study for Gifted and Talented students) in a variety of roles.
