I am an accomplished physicist and dedicated educator, currently serving as the Head of Science at a reputable independent girls` school in London. With over two decades of experience in education, I have been a key figure in shaping science curricula and inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM fields.

After earning a degree in Physics from Imperial College London and a PhD from The Royal Marsden Hospital, University of London, I transitioned from research into education, driven by a passion for teaching and making science accessible to young minds. Over the course of my career, I have worked in both single-sex and coeducational schools, giving me a broad understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning environments.

In my role as Head of Science, I oversee the development and delivery of the science curriculum, teaching across all key stages. From Key Stage 3 to A-Level, I have a deep understanding of the developmental stages of learning, ensuring that students are engaged and challenged at every level of their education. My dynamic teaching approach combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experimentation, fostering curiosity and a love of discovery in students of all ages.

A strong advocate for encouraging young women to pursue careers in STEM, I am committed to breaking down barriers in science education. Under my leadership, the science department has achieved consistently high academic results, and I have spearheaded numerous initiatives to promote gender equality in science.

Outside the classroom, I am deeply involved in organizing science fairs, mentoring programs, and collaborating with fellow educators to advance innovative teaching methods. My dedication to inspiring the next generation of scientists has had a lasting impact on both students and colleagues alike.

Availability: At the moment I am available most week days and evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday preferred but am flexible.

Throughout my career, I have taught across all key stages, from Key Stage 3 to A-Level, providing a strong foundation in science and guiding students through increasingly complex topics as they progress through their academic journey.

During the global pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, I continued to teach a full timetable through remote learning, utilizing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. I ensured that students received uninterrupted, high-quality education by incorporating a variety of digital tools, including online simulations, interactive resources, and virtual labs. By creatively leveraging technology, I maintained student engagement and academic progress during a challenging time for education, demonstrating both adaptability and dedication.

In both classroom and remote settings, I am committed to using modern technologies to enhance teaching. Whether in-person or online, I integrate digital simulations, educational software, and other resources to help students grasp complex scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible manner. By doing so, I equip students with critical skills in digital literacy and problem-solving, preparing them for the demands of the evolving scientific landscape.

Having worked in both single-sex and coeducational schools, I bring a wealth of experience in tailoring teaching strategies to diverse student groups.
