I am currently in my second year studying Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sheffield. Previously I achieved A*AA in Maths, Further Maths and Physics in my A Levels.

To me, Maths is more than just a subject. Through it, the world is both logical and beautiful. Though I have always had a love of numbers ( I know Pi to 112 d.p. !), both my prior professional tutoring experience ( and my own sister...) have shown me that this is not the case for everyone. In addition to making sure that you have a solid grounding in the content, an interest, maybe even love of the subject is crucial in order to truly succeed at the subject. This is why I feel passing my passion on is an essential part of the way I teach.

Availability: Although I am very flexible outside of my studies, the times below should give you a rough idea of my availability.

Monday - Friday : 6.30pm onwards
Saturday - Sunday : 11am - 7pm

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I love to teach maths and worked part-time at Explore Learning teaching small groups of children aged 5-16 where I loved watching faces light up when I was able to teach concepts previously inaccessible to them - as well as passing on my enthusiasm for my subject. Working there for over two years now, I have been able to improve my communication skills with different aged children, being able to adapt my approach on an individual basis.

I also tutored a year 7 pupil as part of my school’s maths mentoring scheme, teaching on a one to one basis, requiring a a more personalised approach.

As well as this, I also volunteered for several afternoons at a local primary school.
