I am a former journalist who is devoted to education and have four children of my own aged from eight to 19, so understand just how hard trying to keep a young person engaged at school can be. Now, more than ever qualifications matter, and once they fall behind it can be difficult for a student to catch up without a little extra help. My job is to support the young person in their education by working in partnership with both parents and their children. If a child is falling behind at school, experience has taught me that it is often because they have a shaky grasp of the basics of their subject. Practice the basics and confidence grows very quickly. When confidence grows, success generally follows soon after. I can offer help in 11+ tutoring, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, GCSE preparation and A Levels, as well as offering help with personal statements for university applications.

Experience: In consultation with the local authority, I home educated my 11-year-old son from 2007 until 2013. In it`s latest review North Lincolnshire Council described his provision as "well organised and structured it is clear that targets are set and that he works diligently towards his goals." I have successfully tutored toward the 11+, Maths, English Language, English Literature, History, Physics, Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and Government and Politics, English Literature and History at A level.
