Hello! My name is Maya and my favourite poem is `The Orange` by Wendy Cope. I am passionate about English and I would love the opportunity to share this, using my wealth of teaching experience to support pupil`s progress.

Experience: I have just graduated with a first-class degree in English Education from the University of Brighton. I also have an A-level in English Literature (B) and GCSEs in English Literature (A) and English Language (B). My degree has given me 3 years of experience teaching in classrooms, supporting and challenging my pupils to achieve the very best they can. I strongly believe that everyone can achieve in English and the excelent results in my lessons demonstrate this.

My teaching style is enthusiastic and creative. I believe instilling a love of English is fundamental, and whilst I understand that this can be challenging with the volume of content exam boards and the National Curriculum require, I understand that it is essential if pupils are to be motivated and succeed.

I have experience planning and teaching for a range of educational needs including special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia. I assess every child I teach just as they are and tailor lessons to support their needs and interests. This means that pupils are both supported and motivated in my lessons. I also use my 11 years experience as a youth group leader to my advantage, making lessons fun and engaging.
