I have retired from teaching English and History of Art, initially in comprehensive schools and for the past 25 years in a leading independent girls` school, where I was Head of the English Department.I also tutored The Open University Arts Foundation course for 25 years, and I have marked for most of the examination boards- at the moment,AQA, IGCSE and IB English. I have enhanced DBS status.
Availability: Flexible.I can offer most evenings and weekend mornings and I am happy to teach online. I am equally happy to travel to a student`s home.

Experience: See above. I have tutored for eight years since retiring from running an English Department. I have been an examiner for most of the exam boards over my career and at present mark for the IB.

Julia is a fabulous tutor who has really build my daughter`s confidence and abilities for her English GCSE. We`ve been really impressed with her exact and specific knowledge of the various texts as well as her advice on examcraft. She`s also been very flexible and helpful with extra lessons when needed.
