I attended St. Paul`s School in Barnes before studying Natural Sciences at King`s College, Cambridge. While there I studied physiology, zoology, psychology, geology, maths, and history and philosophy of science, which is the discipline I chose for my final year.

I don`t believe in sitting a student down and lecturing them on what the right answer is. In my own learning experience, a more inclusive and dynamic approach, where the student`s opinions and contributions are encouraged, respected and discussed, is more helpful. Not only will this approach focus on improving grades, but it will also develop the student`s analytic and argumentative skills, skills which are helpful throughout life, and which guided me through my university applications, interviews, and beyond.

I`ve spent so much of my education frustrated at the didactic and boring lectures given me by teachers and university lecturers, but it was always the rare teachers who respected our contributions and considered them seriously, the teachers who would sit down and treat a pupil as an intellectual entity rather than a vessel to be filled, who gave me the best moments in my educational life. As a tutor, I aim to give my students that same respect and consideration on a one-to-one basis.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and music, having been classically trained in both the cello and the piano, and being a self-taught bassist, harmonica player and vocalist.

Experience: I have been working as a private tutor with top London agencies since autumn 2014, with experience tutoring a variety of subjects at levels ranging from Key Stage 1 to A-level. I primarily tutor at students` homes, but am also able to tutor in quiet public areas such as libraries if necessary, and also happily offer online tuition via Skype.

I work every afternoon and evening apart from weekends, meaning that I have built up a lot of experience in this time.

I have also been working to provide after school tuition at a primary school.
