Information about Sophie
I am a current 4th year medical student at Bristol Medical School, about to go into my final year. I started university in 2017, taking a year out during the COVID-19 pandemic to work on the wards, and to do my intercalated Bachelors degree in Genomic Medicine (rare disease genetics, essentially!), achieving a First class Honours.
Happy to chat whenever - please feel free to get in touch with any questions :)
Other things: I`m an avid reader, dancer, and language-learner!
~MY TEACHING STYLE~
I`m kind, calm and understanding, but a little bit strict if you feel that this helps you! I like to know what the tutee`s goals are for themselves, and will help them to become organised learners in order to reach those - that`s the most satisfying outcome for me :)
I have learnt a lot about consistency and study skills in learning as well, and am happy to discuss these in however much detail would be useful. Also took the UKCAT, and am the first in my family to go to university, so know lots about applying to medical school and beyond.
Availability: I will be available very flexibly from Saturday 9th July, both during the week and weekends. Contact me if you would like to arrange a time.
~Online tutoring only~
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: ~LESSON LENGTH, TUTEE AGES~
Lessons would typically be 30/45/60mins long, but this is variable based on what the tutee finds best for their learning.
I`m very happy teaching any age, I have experience in working with all age groups.
~SUBJECTS~
As I have now completed my final exams for Medicine, I feel competent in teaching this to fellow medics in any year.
For A-Levels/GCSEs, I only teach subjects that I know I am competent in tutoring based on my own grades. Here`s a little run down for those relevant:
- A-Level: 2A* (Chemistry, French), 1A (Biology)
- GCSE: 6A*(Maths, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and French), 4A (Business, History, Religious, and Sport Studies), 2B (English Literature, Music)
