I have been an English teacher for over 19 years working in both the state and independent sectors teaching upper Primary, GCSE and A Level. I have worked as both a classroom teacher and as Head of English at a large comprehensive. Currently, I am delivering lessons through Microsoft Teams.

I have an excellent working knowledge of AQA English Language and Literature course and the Edexcel IGCSE Course however, I can support students who are studying different exam boards. Whilst my main scope of experience is teaching in senior schools I can tutor students who require more support as they study for their English SATs, prepare for entrance examinations, or simply require some extra support with homework.

I aim to build strong working relationships with all of the pupils that I teach so that we can work together to maximise their potential. I try to foster a calm and purposeful atmosphere in my sessions to help my pupils to build confidence in their ability.

I aim to share my passion and enthusiasm for my subject with all my students. Preparing students for public examinations is an area in which I am very experienced - the skills required to tackle the demands of the English examination are an important focus and once understood will empower the student.

Availability: I have no availability for the 2021/2022 academic year.

I work part time at an Independent school in Petersfield, so I am only available after 4pm. Currently, I deliver all tutoring online using Zoom.

Experience: KS2, KS3 and KS4 English and English Literature. I have taught the full range of abilities and have much experience of one to one and small group intervention lessons.
