Information about Jenna

I study PPE (Policy, Politics and Economics) as well as maths and law at university. Eventually, I will become a family lawyer, interacting with people every day. All five of the subject’s link to each other in meaningful ways which makes me better at each individual topic. Playing the piano at university means that I am a huge creative! I look at things from outside the box which makes me understand things clearer, which I strongly encourage teach in our sessions. I am a very experienced, patient, observant and well-listening tutor – no struggle or concern will go unheard. I look forward to tutoring you!

I tend to use the first session to figure out your level of understanding on the topic and subject as a whole (usually with a detailed checklist tailored for your exam board/syllabus). I prefer to work as a team rather than me teaching you, so that each session can be focused on what you personally find difficult, taking full advantage of the one-on-one aspect. As the sessions go on we will tick off our checklist once I am confident that you are clear on the topics. I have picked up many techniques and tricks for my approach to understanding and solving problems in maths and economics. For the more written subjects - English language and philosophy – it is important to establish a sophisticated and thorough writing style and understand what the examiner would like from you. Between each session, I make sure I am planning them as tailored to you and your syllabus as possible. I will ask you to apply any techniques I have taught you to questions in class or practice questions/revision in your own time. This way we can make sure the techniques are actually working for you.

Availability: No Thursdays, all other weekdays and weekends, most times, enquire for time availability.

Willing to travel: 3 miles

Jenna has recently started tutoring my grandson. He is very comfortable with her and she has put him at ease about Maths. She explains the subject clearly and simply. This is early days but so far so very good. She is reliable and prepares well for the lessons. Thank you, Jenna.

Tutors Response :

Thank you for this feedback Marcia! It is a pleasure teaching your grandson.

Jenna always made sure the student understood her, using several examples where necessary. This shows that she has complete knowledge of the topics she was teaching and instils confidence in the student and parent.
