Information about Jack
I am an enthusiastic, positive and friendly individual, tutoring full time and specialising in Maths and Physics tutoring up to A Level standard. I have a Masters Degree in Engineering from Cambridge, and also tutor computer science, electronics, chemistry and design technology. I have up to date knowledge of all large exam boards, and as such I am well placed to tailor the tutoring experience towards a specific syllabus and exam technique.
Technical subjects can be daunting for many students, especially with the strict requirements often placed on grades for progression to A Level or a chosen degree path. I have over 5 years experience helping students achieve their goals - not just getting the grades they desire, but also enjoying doing so! Once enjoyment and an interest for a subject have been unlocked, students are always amazed by the progress they can make.
Personally I have a wide range of interests and hobbies, from being a keen musician to computer programming and technical design and construction of weird and wonderful projects. I find this range of experiences helps me connect quickly with interests of my students, and often to provide them with useful advice for future career prospects and ideas.

Experience: I have 5 years of part time private tutoring experience. I previously worked full time for a technology, coding, science and electronics based Summer camp company designing new courses, writing lesson plans, delivering courses directly to students and training 25+ tutors each season to deliver courses all over the UK. This also involved direct teaching groups of between 4-30 students aged 9-17 a variety of technical subjects, making sure they learn something new whilst also having a great time!
I have a full, enhanced DBS certificate verified by Tutor Hunt.

Jack has built a good relationship with our son and Bobby is enjoying the lessons as he works towards important year 9 exams in January. The rating has been affected by failing to turn up for the last 2 lessons.

Jack is very knowledgeable and gets a good balance of explaining and making the student do the work. His explanations on the MAT exam and on general further maths syllabus are clear and were very useful to me.

Jack helped my son with Maths GCSE throughout the second year of the course. Maths is not one of my son`s strong points and Jack was great at explaining topics that he was finding difficult as well as helping him to prepare for mocks and the final exams. Jack was always punctual and professional, encouraging but also firm - I don`t think my son was the easiest student! I`m sure that Jack`s help enabled my son to achieve a higher grade than might have been expected. I have now enlisted Jack to help my daughter with her Maths GCSE!
