Highly successful English tutor with 20+ years of experience. I’ve helped dozens of students, of varying backgrounds and abilities, surpass their expectations (and dare I say it, come to actually enjoy English because of the way I try to frame the subject).
I know exactly what examiners want and I know what students need. My carefully prepared resources and teaching methods ensure I meet the requirements of both. So if you`re missing that extra something to help you creep into the top bands, I can help. But I`m also here for students that struggle with the subject and need direction so that they can pass.
I am patient and like to think I develop a good rapport with my students so that the lessons are seen as less of a chore and more of a motivator.

Experience: I began helping out at a Saturday workshop at a local grammar school back in 2002, and my passion for tutoring grew from there.
My one-on-one tutoring has thrived through various online platforms but just as much through word-of-mouth as parents that are impressed with my approach - and the results it delivers - often recommend me to other parents or contact me again to help with a student’s siblings.

We had a wonderful experience with Sid. He is highly experienced, incredibly supportive, and truly passionate about teaching. With only a short period of time available, he carefully planned everything in advance to make sure every lesson was productive and focused. He quickly built a strong connection with my daughter, making her feel comfortable and motivated from the start. As I requested, he concentrated specifically on exam techniques, which has made my daughter much more confident. His lessons stayed on track without unnecessary storytelling, always centered on clear and effective teaching. We highly recommend him!

Hiya everyone, I think that Sid is an amazing tutor, not only because of how patient he is but also because his is very well-eduacted about GCSE English as a whole. He knows exactly what examiners want and what to avoid, and his simple yet effective methods has made english much more easier for me. Sid constantly quizzes me throughout our lessons to make sure I`m actively learning and understanding different concepts, which has helped me stay focused throughout our lessons. Also, I love that he always knows the answers to my questions about all 3 texts that I study. Thank you so much for your help :)
