A native German speaker, I am a private tutor based in Northamptonshire, who has been helping adults and school pupils learn German, French and ESOL - for enjoyment, exam success and business for more than 25 years. In my free time I am a semi-professional singer. I love Johann Sebastian Bach, Verdi and Puccini and have organised afternoons with German folk songs at old peoples` homes in Germany.
My German is accent-free. We call it "Hochdeutsch".

I believe in "ringing the changes", because learning a language should be fun! My approach is interactive with lots of activities to improve the skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing. A typical session could cover:
Conversations about daily experiences and current affairs
Small talk - meeting and greeting
Expansion of vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions
Grammar, for example, typical mistakes
Job applications with feedback
Reading and pronunciation activities, for example newspaper articles
Students` own contributions with feedback
Anything you would especially like me to cover in the sessions

Susanne is very friendly, helpful and patient - we are really enjoying having her as our tutor. She is very encouraging and always encourages us to ask questions and makes sure she teaches us not just standard German but what is used/said locally which you just can`t get from apps!
