My name is Elena, I am Italian but I have been living in the UK for almost 15 years.
I graduated in Organic Chemistry in Italy, then I did a PhD at the university of Leeds, working on alternative fuels. I cultivated my interest in the environment and low carbon technologies in the following postdoc positions. In 2013, while on maternity leave, feeling that my communication skills were strong enough, I moved into teaching. I qualified in June 2015 and started to work in a school in Royston straight after. However, I soon had to opt for a more flexible carrier, which could combine my passion for teaching with my personal (very busy!) life. In the past three years I helped several A level and GCSE students to regain confidence and successfully pass their exams, meeting and, in some cases exceeding,their targets.
I`m currently tutoring a student for her GCSE triple science and one in A level Chemistry and I went back to work in research at UCL, on a part time basis.
Chemistry is a fantastic subject, the key to understand the world around us. Helping the students to see that and to meet their goals... well, this is my goal!

Availability: Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00-15:00 and
Monday to Friday 17:00-20:00
