Hi! I’m a qualified and experienced Maths tutor currently teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths in a secondary school, so I’m fully up to date with the latest curriculum and the 9–1 GCSE grading system.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Textile Chemistry, along with A Levels in Maths (Pure & Applied) and Chemistry, giving me a strong academic foundation and a real passion for problem-solving and logical thinking.
I believe every student can succeed in Maths with the right support. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. I take the time to understand how you learn best, identify your strengths, and work through any gaps in knowledge step by step.
In our lessons, we’ll focus on building confidence as well as skills. I use a variety of engaging resources, including interactive apps, online tools, textbooks, and past exam papers. I’ll also help you develop effective exam techniques—showing you how to approach questions, structure your working clearly, and check your answers with confidence.
Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, prepare for exams, or simply feel more confident in Maths, I’m here to help you achieve your goals.
I also hold a current enhanced DBS check (certificate available on request), so you can feel assured you’re learning in a safe and professional environment.

Edgar has already made a great impact with our son. He has reinvigorated his enthusiasm for the subject and has helped him to move up a set (in 6 weeks!) Edgar is positive, encouraging and worth every penny!

My son was on his way to getting a grade E in maths and so we hired Edgar to give him the best chance of obtaining the grade C, but knowing it would be a real uphill task.
When Edgar arrived he was smartly dressed and carried an air of professionalism with him. He gelled straight away with my son, who has Aspergers, and together they worked incredibly hard for the last GCSE year resulting in a comfortable grade C at exam time.
We are delighted with what Edgar did with our son. His tutoring approach, the different ways he has of explaining the subject matter and his encouraging style coupled with hard work on our son`s side is what made that pass possible.
