Information about Lily
I was born and raised in North London. I have a creative background; I studied Art at University and then went into teaching. I worked abroad teaching English in Italy for several years and now I`m based in London. When I`m not teaching I like doing creative things such as drawing, photography and creative writing and I also enjoy travelling and being in nature. I have travelled all over Italy and I hope to travel to other places in future!
As a teacher, I like to make my lessons as practical as possible. There is always theory but I want my students to try and use what they learn so it becomes meaningful to them. For me it`s also really important that students feel safe and comfortable to make mistakes because this is fundamental to learning and improving a new skill. I really love my job; meeting new students, learning about their lives and helping them to feel more confident in their abilities is a huge privilege for me, and I look forward to doing it through my tutoring too!
Availability: My availability is currently very flexible and can be discussed individually with students to ensure it is convenient. Online lessons are preferred but I am able to travel within the local area using public transport.

Experience: I have PGCE and CELTA teaching qualifications. I taught in primary schools in London for about a year and then went on to specialise in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), which is my main focus now. I have been an EFL teacher for over 6 years, and I have taught students from a range of ages, nationalities and backgrounds both here in the UK and in Italy. I have experience teaching General English but also extensive experience teaching Cambridge English examination preparation, from KEY to Proficiency and also IELTS. I have also taught Business English and have experience teaching English in specialised Art & Design areas. I also have lots of experience guiding students with written English (for example essays or letter writing) for both work and academic purposes.
