I have been a teacher of Drama and English for 24 years, with responsibility for Drama in two schools, where I led many drama workshops and enrichment activities. In 2016 I started looking for new challenges away from traditional educational settings. For the last five years I have been tutoring private pupils and working as a free-lance drama facilitator in various primary schools.
I tutor KS3 and GCSE level students English and English Literature as well as ESL students for FCE examinations.
I am a Team Leader and examiner for AQA GCSE English Language Paper 2 and an assistant examiner for AQA GCSE English Literature Paper 2. I have been an examiner for more than 15 years.
I am an excellent communicator, in terms of both public speaking and one to one situations. I enjoy inspiring confidence in my students and also make myself available if students need advice.
I am married to a musician/music teacher and have two children aged 21 and 14.

Experience: I have taught English and Drama to GCSE and BTEC level in schools for 24 years.
I have prepared students for written and practical examinations at GCSE and BTEC. I have been an examiner in both subjects and am currently an A graded examiner for AQA GCSE English and lead a team of 8 other examiners. I am also enjoying tutoring adults with English as a Second Language and am gaining valuable experience of teaching the Cambridge English: First (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced (CAE) qualification.
