Last year I graduated with a master`s in physics and have been teaching mathematics and science since then. I find teaching especially rewarding and enjoy watching a student`s confidence progress as they get to grips with complicated ideas. I was due to start a graduate scheme in London but it has been delayed due to the current situation; thus I am using this time to tutor as much as possible, as it is something that I enjoy.

Currently, I am providing online tutoring to students. This seems very effective and excellent for students looking to make headway in these unprecedented times. I annotate equations and notes whilst explaining my working to students. We work through problems together - I address their issues and explain the content in a tailored way that is often missed in the classroom.

Experience: I have over a year`s experience preparing students for exams in mathematics and science. Early on in the year, I focus on content and ensure that the student is developing an understanding of the subject. Towards the exam season, I begin to focus on exam technique and intertwine exam competency with the content of the subject. Exam technique is critical for success at school and is almost as important as understanding the content. Through having recently sat exams, I know where students make mistakes and highlight these areas to my students.

In addition to tutoring, I have spent time working in summer camps and so am experienced in dealing with adolescents. For several summers I worked at CASA club in Farnham, facilitating different sports. After my year abroad, I worked in a summer camp in Spain - this meant engaging with Spanish adolescents and helping them to improve their English. I enjoy watching adolescents develop into mature young adults and I always strive to provide an example of excellent manners.
