Information about Emma
I`m an English Literature and Language graduate from UCL University.
I have experience tutoring Year 9 to Degree level English Literature and Language, as well as a CELTA qualification to teach English as a foreign language.
I also tutor Spanish from beginners` to GCSE level, and History up to GCSE, and my past pupils` have achieved high grades in these subjects.
I`m dedicated to finding the individual difficulties of my pupils, and tailoring my tutoring to suit their needs. I try and promote independence in and enthusiasm for the subject. I try and combine tutoring that will appeal to the pupils` interests as well as ensuring that they meet the criteria set by the exam boards and cover the necessary material.
My other interests include politics, drawing, photography, cycling and languages.
I`m always excited at the opportunity to tutor as I really believe in the importance of education, and that it can be really fun!
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I currently tutor 7 pupils from Year 9 to GCSE in English Literature, 1 pupil for GCSCE History and Spanish.
I`ve improved their grades and their enthusiasm for the subjects they study.
I`ve gained a CELTA qualification, teaching adults from over 10 countries English as a foreign language at both pre and post intermediate grades.
I`ve studied English Literature and Language to degree level gaining first class marks in modules on English Language and on 20th Century literature, and a 2:1 grade overall. I love reading, and hope to encourage the same in my pupils, by sharing some of the knowledge I`ve been fortunate enough to gain from studying.

Emma is reliable and punctual. She is hardworking and very patient. Nothing is too much for her and she quickly assessed my daughters weaknesses and strengths and adapted her teaching methods to meet her needs. Emma makes herself available for revision support prior to tests. She has a natural talent in engaging with young people and my daughter says she feels so much more confident after each tutoring session.
