Hello, I’m Sarah. I specialise in supporting students with GCSE English Language and Literature.
I work with students across the UK online and also locally in West Yorkshire. My focus is helping students understand how English works rather than simply memorising answers. We work on analysing texts, structuring strong exam responses and building confidence with reading and writing.
Many of the students I work with are capable but unsure how to organise their ideas. Through clear explanation, modelling and structured practice, students learn how to approach exam questions with confidence.
I also support students who may have lost confidence in English or who benefit from a calmer, more structured approach to learning.
Lessons are tailored to the individual student and focus on developing the skills needed for success in GCSE exams.

Availability: I currently offer online tutoring sessions during the week as well as limited Sunday availability.

Lessons are typically held in the afternoon and evening, and I try to keep a small number of spaces available so that students receive focused support.

I also have some daytime slots for those students who are struggling with school but wish to continue with studies.

Experience: I have several years of experience working with students preparing for GCSE English Language and Literature. I support students with a wide range of abilities, from those who need help building confidence in reading handwriting to those aiming for higher grades.

My work focuses on helping students understand how exam questions work and how to organise their responses clearly. We work on analysing language, exploring themes and characters in literature and in developing structured written answers.

Many students find English challenging because they are unsure how to approach questions or explain their ideas. My teaching focuses on breaking down these skills step by step so that students can see how to build strong answers.

I also work with students who benefit from a calmer, more structured learning approach, helping them rebuild confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed in their exams.
