I am a fully qualified teacher, currently working in a North London school teaching GCSEs and Functional Skills qualifications. My passion for teaching developed during my time as a Guitar Tutor at BigK Music School. I taught students from 5 to 50 years old while I was studying for my degree, and I soon realised that teaching was the highlight of my day. I also helped to manage several shows and performances at local theatres, where my students were able to showcase their newly acquired skills.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to spend a year broadening my experience in education. I volunteered in a specialist SEN provision where I discovered tailor-made curriculums and alternative approaches to teaching and learning; I visited a PRU (pupil referral unit) where I gained an insight into creative strategies for educating challenging students, and I continued to tutor Music and English privately to hone in on my practice and secure my knowledge of the relevant curriculums.

After graduating with a PGCE in English, I settled into teaching KS3 and KS4 English at an Enfield state school. I gained a thorough understanding of the Edexcel and AQA exam boards for both English Language and English Literature. I also developed an interest in teaching English as a second language to an increasing number of keen international students, and I now spend my time moving between the English and EAL departments.
