Being a good tutor is as much about listening to students and their needs as it is about teaching them. I have patience in abundance as well as the credibility that comes with a high level of academic achievement. Learning languages can be fun, indeed it has to be for it to `sink in`. Making what looks difficult seem far less complicated is what I am good at, indeed I made a career out of it as a financial journalist. Communicating with a wide range of different personalities has also been a key part of my working life. Now I aspire to use those credentials in a much more fulfilling way, cherishing the opportunity to see the results of my work reflected in the academic success and self-esteem of those I teach. I specialise in French and Latin up to `A` level standard, as well as English language and grammar up to GCSE level. I am also capable of teaching beginners guitar, piano and drums.

Experience: One of the main transferable skills I acquired in my career was the ability to disseminate complex ideas in a simpler, more digestible way, which is an invaluable skill in an educational environment.
