A highly motivated postgraduate accustomed to working under pressure and using own initiative, currently working as a Scientist at a pharmaceutical company. My job involves a lot of hands-on drug product development so loads of science experiments experience! I have a Master’s degree in Drug Discovery and Development from UCL, along with a BSc in Pharmaceutical Science (which was mainly chemistry based). Along with that I have Chemistry, Biology and Maths and Arabic A-levels and GCSEs. Fluent in Arabic.

Availability: Friday evenings and weekends

Experience: For the two years I was part of an education program as a teaching assistant for young students to help them improve their grades, develop their interest in going to university and building their confidence which has been very rewarding. My role changes throughout the year, I assist English and Maths teachers during class by providing guidance to the students. But I also carry out lab practical classes such as DNA extraction, making Aspirin, UV spectroscopy, taking accurate measurements, reflux reactions and general lab safety. Along with that the students usually have a science talk where I theoretically go over the science behind the experiments. I always find that part the most fun, as it’s fulfilling seeing the students go over the processes and chemistry such as equations and fully understand it. I also enjoy going over more advanced degree level chemistry, the processes of drug discovery/development and the pharmaceutical industry which could be aimed at older students.
In terms of the Arabic language- I speak, write and read fluently in Arabic. I have been tutoring different levels of Arabic for the past two years.

I have a strong science background and really enjoy teaching others and working with young people to help them achieve their goals. I consider myself to be friendly, approachable and patient and my aim is to inspire my students to learn and achieve more.


My teaching style involves evaluating where a student is at and what their goal is which will then enable us to make an achievable plan. I usually go over the theory, discuss it with the student which then enables us to go over some worked examples together and finally assessing the student’s understanding by doing some exam-style questions.

My goal is to teach students tools for problem solving so that they will be able gain independence and confidence in their abilities. I always prepare in advance once I know what topic the student needs help with. Please feel free to contact me if there are any further questions.
