I am passionate about the study, teaching and understanding of Chemistry. It is a subject that links so many other areas of Science and plays a fundamental part in our everyday lives.

At school, Chemistry often is considered as challenging and difficult to excel at. However, I liken it to the study of a foreign tongue. One needs to learn the basic rules and key verbs and structures before more complex conversations can be tackled.

It is possible to be a confident Chemistry student but to achieve this one needs to be willing to put in the hard graft. It is not sufficient to just memorise and recall information but also apply understanding to new and complex scenarios.

I hope to use a mixture of note-taking, question and answer, animations and videos and a variety of examination questions to develop depth, detail and confidence in the tutees` chemical knowledge.

I always keep a careful record of each session and try to coach good independent study skills. I can also advise on university applications.

Availability: Evenings (6 - 8 pm)

1st Class (Honours) MSci in Pharmaceutical Chemistry - Queen Mary, University of London

5 years Industrial Experience working in Analytical and Formulation Chemistry. (Invaluable in the teaching of analytical or instrumental techniques)

PGCE in Chemistry - Institute of Education

6 Years teaching experience at one of the best state schools in the country maintaining exceptionally high GCSE and A-Level results.

Extensive private tutoring experience over the last 4 years.
