Information about Abby
I am a 33 year old qualified maths teacher and Mum of two. I have a 2.1 Mathematics degree BSc (Hons) from the University of York and PGCE in Mathematics Education. I have been teaching for the last 11 years.
I have experience teaching and one-to-one tutoring across KS3, KS4 and KS5 at all abilities. I have a great deal of experience teaching to the Edexcel GCSE specification but have also taught the OCR and AQA GCSE specifications as well as GCSE functional skills. At A-Level I have experience teaching the AQA specifications.
I have a particular passion for teaching students with Special Educational Needs partly due to having dyslexia myself.
I adopt a methodical clear teaching approach. I believe it is vital to structure the difficulty of questions carefully to ensure students gain confidence in mathematics.

We really please with Abby, very lucky to have found her. She is a great math teacher. she is really good at engaging my daughter in the lessons and keep her interested. My daughter love the lessons with Abby and they have really help her with her Maths as school.

Our 15 yr old daughter has always found Maths a struggle and lacked confidence, but now that she is spending time with Abby we are already seeing improvements. Abby makes our daughter feel at ease so that she has the confidence to open up and discuss things she doesn`t get.
Being a teacher Abby has access to the right resources but more importantly she has the skills and experience to tailor her approach and the structure of the sessions to a way that works best for our daughter.
We have no hesitation in recommending Abby if you are seeking a tutor for extra help with Maths.

Abby has been tutoring my son for quite a few weeks and I`ve found that she is a very warm person. My son has gained both knowledge and confidence since Abby has been guiding him. I found Abby has assisted him so much that we may continue with Abby when my son continues on at school with his A Levels once his GCSE`s have finished.
