Information about William
A qualified and enthusiastic History teacher and Head of Faculty, I have over 13 years teaching a variety of GCSE and A level courses, including AQA, OCR, and Edexcel. I have consistently achieved `Outstanding` GCSE and A level results and, understand the specific skills that are required to reach outstanding results.
I believe in helping learners to understand the key concepts of History, so that they can apply this knowledge within an exam environment. I try to immerse learners in a topic and adapt my teaching methods so that they suit the individual’s needs and abilities. I am very aware of the pressures of school and exams and strive to help learners reach their potential without unnecessary stress and anxiety.
Availability: Mon-Fri 6pm-10pm (term time)
Weekends/School holidays by arrangement

Experience: 14 years teaching GCSE with consistently ‘Outstanding’ results. I have attended a number of exam board seminars and training days which have allowed me to understand fully the expectations of each exam board.

Summer 2019. Another very successful year! 100% grade 9-7 at GCSE and 100% A* at A level.
Summer 2021- An amazing performance from students after the disruption of Covid 19. 100% of students achieved an A-A* at A level or 7-9 at GCSE.
Summer 2022- Exceptional results again in the return to formal examinations. 100% A-A* at A level and 7-9 at GCSE.
Summer 2023- continued outstanding work and amazing work from students. 100% grade 8-9 at GCSE and 100% A* at A-Level.

Will is such a passionate history tutor, who teaches in a way that is extremely engaging. He was also super flexible in adapting lessons to what my daughter needed and even created resources for her for topics he didn’t already have ones prepared. My daughter loves history and has been doing well, but has fallen behind where she wanted to be due to the sheer volume of work for all her subjects. Lessons with Will helped her feel back on track and she really enjoyed her several weeks’ work with him. As a parent, I found him extremely communicative and responsive, and genuinely a kind person who clearly wants his students to do the best they can. I had reached out to a number of tutors and even from the first contact I had confidence in his approach and attitude, which is why we chose to go forward with lessons with him. I’m so glad we did! I will definitely be keeping hold of his details if I need them for younger siblings. Thanks, Will, for your incredible hard work and support!

William is an excellent tutor. He helped my son to gain his confidence in History and able to get a 7 GCSE in history within 7-8 months period. He taught my son how to do exam and focus on important areas. Thank you again..

Will is organised and knows his subject inside out. He has a great rapport with my son and makes his history tutorial feel like a discussion between individuals rather than a hard slog. He knows the syllabus and what examiners are looking for and my son finds this helpful to improve upon how he answers his questions/technique.
