I am a graduate of Oxford University, with 20 years` experience teaching English and History at GCSE and A Level. I have a record of increasing students` final exam grade by at least one level.

At school I achieved the top national marks in A-Level English and Advanced Higher History. At Oxford I got the highest mark in the Honour Moderations of my subject, BA and MA Modern History and English.

My particular skill is in making the daunting topics of poetry and Shakespeare accessible and entertaining. I am an experienced actor and a prolific writer, which has given me the skills to enliven these areas and take the terror out of them! I am also an expert on essay planning and technique.

Aside from my theatrical pursuits, my hobbies are cinema and amateur boxing.
