I am a friendly and patient teacher who really enjoys tutoring because of the satisfaction of helping students achieve their goals.
My approach is to first ensure that students develop firm foundations in maths which can then be built upon.
I strongly believe in the importance of developing a deep understanding of Maths by enabling students to have a clear understanding of how and why certain techniques work. I find that students can often solve a problem by applying a set of rules they have learnt but don`t fully understand why this works. This inevitably leads to confusion and mistakes especially where problems are presented in different contexts. By giving students a deeper understanding of Mathematical techniques I find that this firstly helps with remembering how to to solve a particular problem and means they will be more able to recognise the same problem when presented in many different contexts.

Experience: I am a fully qualified Maths teacher with several years experience of teaching classes and also tutoring one to one. My main job at present is tutoring students in school.
