Information about Joanne
I can offer help with KS2, KS3 and GCSE/iGCSE Maths and Functional Skills level 1 and 2. I can also help with boosting confidence in Maths and with finding and filling gaps in knowledge.
Availability: I am available during the day, after school and early evenings. I can also arrange sessions at weekends if required. I am very flexible and can offer times which are mutually convenient. I am also available during the school holidays if you would like to keep skills sharp before returning to lessons.

Experience: I have been tutoring now for 5 years but previously I taught in mainstream schools for over 20 years. I have taught in Primary and Middle Schools and in all year groups from Reception to Year 8. My roles in school include Maths leadership and SENCO. I have experience in preparing learners for the Year 1 phonics screen, KS1 and KS2 SATS, Independent and Grammar school exams, GCSE exams and Functional skills exams. I am also a marker for KS2 SATs and I have written for a leading Maths publishing firm. I have a BEd. (Hons) in Maths and I gained a NASENCo. I am also DBS checked.

Throughout the time Joanne was tutoring my daughter, she helped improve her confidence, understanding of the subject and her grades. Joanne`s teaching style is clear, she is friendly and patient. She breaks down difficult concepts into simple, relatable explanations. She was flexible and if needed, she would set my daughter further work to do at home/during holidays. Communication was quick and easy.

I`m in my late forties and have been working with Joanne towards my functional skills level 2. When I started with her I couldn`t even do basic devision and multiplication and today I found out I passed my exam first attempt. Joanne has been a brilliant tutor and If It wasn`t for her constant encouragement I would have given up ages ago. She`s explains things so clearly and is incredibly patient and just a really lovely person. A million thanks Joanne, you`ve been amazing! Mel.
