Information about Sabrina
For the first examination of new specification Maths GCSE (2017) 70% of my class achieved a Grade 8 or 9 (A.A**).
In 2019, 68% of my class achieved grades 7-9, with many more achieving above their target grade.
I have been teaching for 5+ years in an `Outstanding` West London secondary school which is recognised as being in the top 1% nationally for progress at GCSE.
I believe all children have the potential to excel in Maths and should not be determined by a target grade or what set they are in school.
I have taught middle set students who have gone onto to successfully achieve outstanding results at A Level Maths and Further Maths. A large part of this is down to children enjoying maths when they are able to access the content and see results.
I am able to provide bespoke lessons based on my experience as a teacher and can adapt lessons to suit the ability of your child. I am relatable and patient and love the work that I do!
I teach for understanding so children are able to link together different topics in maths and build a comprehensive knowledge bank. I believe it is important to supplement this learning with exam paper practice in order to apply the skills they are acquiring. I have access to excellent resources and therefore fully prepared for the new specification GCSE and A-Level.
I have worked with many of my students for a number of years and committed to seeing them through to their examination.
Please note KS3 refers to Year 7 and 8. KS4 refers to years 9,10 and 11.
Availability: I am available from 4pm weekdays.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: 5+ years teaching experience at a `Outstanding` West London Secondary school. I have taught all abilities and groups from Year 7-12.
As the KS3 Maths Leader, I have led my department in securing the attainment and progress of KS3 students to ensure they are KS4 ready. This has allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and skills required to successfully access GCSE content.
I am an Edexcel examiner, the experience of this helps me to focus on the aims and objectives in teaching which are embedded in the assessment model.
