Information about Zoe
Hello everybody,
My name is Zoe. I am English and I currently live in Aigburth, Liverpool, England.
I went to a community high school where I gained 9 GCSEs. After this, I went to college to study performing arts, media and drama. In university I studied a Bachelor`s degree in drama. Finally, I went on to study a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
As well as teaching, I have had a variety of other jobs. I have worked as an actor performing in plays and doing background artist work on TV shows and films!
In my spare time I also studied Aromatherapy and worked as a holistic therapist. I am very interested in wellbeing. I practise yoga and meditation and I enjoy swimming and attending zumba classes weekly. In my spare time I also learn Spanish and I run my own small business online where I make and sell wax melts for candle burners.
I enjoy reading books, watching TV shows playing games and travelling. My favourite destinations that I have visited so far have been Italy (Florence in particular) and New York City.
I believe in growth mindset, and when I teach I will always remind children that making mistakes is part of learning and is absolutely fine. As I believe in a holistic approach, it is very important to ensure that children have achieved all the levels of Maslow`s hierarchy of needs prior to learning. Once there physiological needs, safety needs and belonging are met, this is when learning can successfully occur. Experiential
learning is part of my philosophy of teaching too, children learn best when they are doing!
I look forward to meeting you and helping you along your learning journey!
Availability: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 3pm-6pm.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been teaching in schools for the last 5 years. I have taught primary aged children from 3 years old to 11 years old. During my time teaching I taught a wide range of subjects from English and maths, to art and computing.
I have worked in schools full time with my own classes, Early Years classes and Year 3 and 4. I have also worked as a teaching assistant and teacher on supply in a variety of schools, supporting learners with learning difficulties and teaching unfamiliar classes. In my last school, I was the Modern Foreign Languages lead, I ran an after school film club and I mentored trainee teachers. I had SEN heavy classes with needs such as autism and ADHD, therefore I had a lot of training in how best to work with these children.
