A qualified English teacher since 2004, I have worked in schools in the West Yorkshire area and I have tutored KS3 / GCSE English Language and English Literature for about the last 10 years, both online and in students` homes. My strengths lie in making English accessible and enjoyable for reluctant and struggling students in particular but I have ample experience of teaching all abilities.

Experience: I`ve been a qualified English teacher since September 2004, worked as an English teacher in a number of high schools around West Yorkshire until 2016 and I have continued to tutor English and do some casual teaching at my current school where I am now the Literacy Specialist. I am familiar with a range of specifications: GCSE AQA / Edexcel / Eduqas English Language and GCSE AQA / Edexcel English Literature.
I also have experience of teaching Functional Skills English and I am familiar with the specification for AQA Functional Skills Maths. I am mainly interested in teaching English Language, given that this is the subject that most students need to pass to enable access to college courses of their choice / apprenticeships.
