I am a science teacher with 8 years of experience working in schools. I have taught KS3 and GCSE science on both the OCR and AQA exam boards. I have taught science at KS5 as well as MYP. I graduated from Durham University in 2013 with a 2:1 in BSc Biomedical Sciences (Hons). I am currently taking time away from teaching to study a Masters at Northumbria University.
I am fully aware that students have weaknesses with different parts of the curriculum. Before tutoring begins we will evaluate what your weak points are in an initial meeting. I will then tailor our sessions to your individual needs. This maximises the impact of the sessions and saves you money as we don`t repeat the parts you already know.

Andrew has been tutoring our 14 year old son for 4 months. He is an experienced science teacher and it shows. Andrew immediately put our son at ease and kept him engaged and interested. He is well organised and professional. He very quickly assessed our son`s ability so was able to pick out weaker knowledge areas that he needed to work on. He takes a systematic and in-depth approach that our son found easy to understand and it helped build his confidence. Andrew also helped with exam technique which has contributed to our son going up 2 GCSE levels after his recent Year 10 tests.

Andrew has tutored my 15 year old daughter for about 4 month in Biology and Chemistry. I can highly recommend Andrew. He is very calm, my daughter liked him very much. He is always prepared for the lesson and very reliable. Good tutor.
