Hi all,

My name is Dylan and I am a recently qualified teacher. I have always had a passion for teaching ever since I was a student within Secondary School. I have strived to become a teacher ever since the age of 14 years old and I qualified in July 2020.

I have a PGDE in Physical Education with Mathematics to an Outstanding Grade. I have worked within schools who range from Outstanding to Requires Improvement and understand the pressures that are put upon young people when it comes to school stress.

I have been working remotely from home and understand the technicalities that this may bring when online learning. I have found ways in which the learners are engaged and understand the relevance of the work and their capacity to do it to an increasing standard each time they come. Also, I have built an academic relationship with my students and have seen them increase their grades from a 4-6, 5-7, 6-9.

I have been teaching since the age of 18 and I have experience of working with a wide range of ability levels within Mathematics and Physical Education. One of my proudest achievements is increase the grades of a Y11 BTEC Sport class by 90% after their exam result in January 2020. I have sound knowledge in both GCSE and BTEC Sport Physical Education and understand the pressures the young people face due to the increasing size of the specification that they have to learn before their examination.

GCSE Mathematics starts at Year 7 and the build up to the exam starts then. I try and help pupils by improving their problem-solving skills and making sure that the basic foundations are there in order for the student to improve and to have a base to fall back on. I find that this is the best way that students can improve quickly and can see results. Once a student sees results they build their confidence levels and start enjoying getting problems correct. Mathematics is one subject that there is only one right answer but there can be many ways to get to the same answer.

I understand at this present moment that GCSE examinations have been withdrawn but they are replacing them with mini-exams so pupils are still being pushed towards them examinations. It is never too late to start revising for your examinations and I can help in anyway that you feel is necessary.

I tailor my sessions to the needs of the young person and I endeavour to provide excellent teaching and learning.

Availability: I am available Monday to Friday from 4PM to 8PM as I am currently working within a school.

Experience: I have taught Mathematics since the age of 20 and have taught at numerous high schools across Liverpool and Warrington.
I am currently working within a Secondary School teaching Mathematics remotely as cover for the Head of Mathematics.
I am comfortable teaching KS3 and KS4 maths and have an awareness of all specifications. I have specific knowledge of the Edexcel and the OCR Specifications.
I am also a Physical Education teacher since the age of 18 and have an awareness of all specifications up to A-Level.
I am comfortable teaching remotely KS3, KS4 and KS5 PE both theoretical and their NEA/PEP required alongside their practical grade.
