Information about Michelle
I am currently a science mentor at a school in Leicester, teaching small groups of children between ages 11-16 chemistry, biology and physics. I have been tutoring for a couple of years prior to this while completing my PhD in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. I spent 8 years at the University where I gained my MSci in natural sciences in 2013 this involved the study of chemistry, maths and physics. My favourite aspect of the PhD was the teaching side where I learned the value of one-to-one and small group teaching in transforming students learning.
Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Since January I have been mentoring small groups of students in a school in Leicester and I have been tutoring one-to-one for the last couple of years. Over the past four years I have demonstrated in a physical chemistry undergraduate lab for first year university students. I have also tutored a number of small groups in their first and second year of university for a range of chemistry subjects.
