My name is Tim. I live in a village near Esher in Surrey. I am married with two daughters both of whom have completed science based degrees. I was a chemistry teacher for 35 years ( please take some time to read the my experience section for further details ) but retired two years giving me more time to concentrate on my tutees.

Availability: I am available during the day and early evening during the week and during the day through the weekend.
I am available for online lessons in addition to face to face. Most of my students seem to like the convenience of having lessons via Skype or Zoom but will use face to face lessons when they feel the need.

Experience: I was a teacher of chemistry at a boy`s grammar school in Kingston-upon-Thames for over 35years. If thinking of employing a tutor it is very important that the tutor is up to date with the huge number of changes that have been made on both the GCSE and A level specifications since 2017, not only in content but also exam structure and practical assessment. As the majority of my teaching time was focussed on the exam classes I am fully cognisant of these developments in the delivery of the chemistry spec.
My timetable during my last full time of teaching full time involved me teaching two year 13 sets, two year 12 sets and a year 11 class together with coaching rugby and cricket. I have been head of the chemistry department in addition to being a head of year. I have tutored students, both individually and in small groups, in all of the major exam boards for A level, I.B. Pre-U and GCSE for many years with a great deal of success.
