Information about Annie
I am a Durham University graduate (BSc Hons - Chemistry with Spanish) now studying medicine at King`s College London.
I am an experienced tutor with both primary and secondary school students across several subjects. I am knowledgeable about the 11+ system both in terms of preparing for the local SATS tests and for the independent school`s entrance exams. Especially at this young age, I am passionate about providing tutoring that is nurturing and fun to encourage students to enjoy learning and reach secondary school with an eagerness to learn.
For secondary school students, I offer tutoring in all three sciences, maths and Spanish at GCSE and for those looking for a boost at A-level I can help in biology and chemistry. I like to encourage secondary schools students to start to take ownership of their own learning, especially as they approach public exams and so my teaching style incorporates giving them the tools to become independent learners, while supporting them where they need it. My tutoring objectives and styles will adapt to their goals and learning styles, but I always aim to promote their interest in the subject and lay out some long term goals to achieve in our first couple of lessons.
All my lessons run online now which I have found is rewarding for both student at tutor and is usually as effective as meeting in person. I know the transition online can be new for parents and students, and for that reason I am happy to discuss how that could work over the phone to help all involved decide what is the best thing for them before committing to any lessons.
Availability: flexible and adaptable to students schedules with the ongoing lockdown.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring in an official capacity for over a year now. Before that I did some more informal work through my A-levels and studies at Durham University.
