My latest experience has been as curriculum coordinator and class teacher. I have taught this at Key Stage 2, Stage 3 and Key Stage 4: Year 6 SATs, Functional Skills level from Entry level to level 2 and at GCSE.
As class teacher I have experience teaching every primary year group and with secondary pupils, in particular in the past 7 years.
As curriculum leader of a variety of subjects I have had the responsibility to monitor and evaluate not only teaching of subjects but the effectiveness of the delivery of the curriculum, in relation to other schools and children’s achievements. All of which contributed to the on going process of school improvement. As Subject Leader I have had responsibility for a number of budgets, all of which remained healthy despite constraints due to a fall of numbers on role for 3 Years. I was responsible for timetables across the school, making good use of time and facilities.
In my roles within the schools it has been essential that I demonstrated excellence as a class teacher as well as providing effective leadership and support in the subjects that I have led. I recognise that excellent teaching gives every child the chances they deserve to achieve, that children learn better when they are excited, stimulated and enjoying themselves and that excellent teaching does this. I enjoy the challenge of taking on the responsibility for curriculum leadership and appreciate the opportunity to develop in new areas and will take advantage of every opportunity to raise my expertise and standards through continued professional development, including taking part in and leading in service training.
I have been a home tutor for the past 9 years working with students to help with KS2 SATs, English and Humanities to GCSE as well as Maths tutoring to Year 7.
